Hey! I'm Carrie

Weary. It’s a heavy word, isn’t it? It carries so much weight—the kind that sinks deep into your soul and leaves you feeling burdened and worn. It may be the start of a fresh, new day — and yet, perhaps you find yourself sitting with a weary and heavy heart.

Maybe you’ve just had “one of those days.” Tempers flared, attitudes took over, and nothing seemed to go quite right. Or it could be that it’s more than a bad day. Maybe you’ve been walking through a particularly hard season. The semester hasn’t gone the way you’d hoped, and, honestly, you’re just not sure you have what it takes anymore.

Sweet friend, can I take a moment to lift that burden from your shoulders?

The truth is, none of us have what it takes. In my own strength, I certainly do not have the patience, grace, or wisdom needed to raise, train, and teach my children. There have been countless moments when I’ve felt incapable, moments when weariness threatened to overwhelm me. But here’s the good news: I’m not meant to do this alone. And neither are you.

The One who has called you to this task—the Lord Himself—has all that you need. He is our refuge, our strength, and our ever-present help (Psalm 46:1). He provides the wisdom and insight we need for the challenges, struggles, and difficulties we face. When we turn to Him, He meets us with His limitless strength and grace.

So, if you find yourself sitting in weariness tonight, can I encourage you to call out to Him? Lay the reasons for your weariness before Him and invite Him to be your strength. Ask Him for what you need. Whether it’s patience to navigate a challenging day, wisdom to make decisions, or simply a fresh start tomorrow, He promises to meet you where you are.

Homeschooling is a beautiful, meaningful calling, but it’s not an easy one. And yet, it’s in the hard moments that we’re reminded of this truth: we are not homeschooling in our own strength. We are homeschooling in His.

So, homeschool strong, my friend. Not because you’re strong, but because He is. And His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Tomorrow is a new day, and His mercies will meet you there, fresh and abundant.

Hey! I'm Carrie

I’m a second-generation homeschool mom of three wild boys, author of the Let’s Talk Science series and Foundations Phonics, as well as a certified Go + Tell Gals coach.

I know what it’s like to juggle homeschooling, work, motherhood, and special needs—and to wonder if you’ve even got what it takes.

That’s exactly why I created The Everyday Homeschool: to help busy Christian moms homeschool with clarity and confidence, while embracing the beauty (and the chaos) of everyday life.

Whether you need practical tools, coaching support, or just a reminder that God is right in the middle of your story—I’m your girl!
