As a second-generation work-at-home homeschooler, I have a passion for helping moms create a homeschool that fits into their life and that they LOVE.
I’m a down-to-earth, everyday mom. I love Jesus, spending time with my family, chips & salsa, old TV shows, writing, and let's be honest -- sleep. Hot pink makes me smile, pearls are my favorite, and items with llamas on them make me squeal excitedly.
Fun fact: I’m semi-famous for being a strong-willed child who was once expelled from homeschool -- but that is a different story for another time . . .
Homeschooling doesn't have to be complicated, overwhelming, or exhausting -- and you don't even need the patience of a saint in order to pull it off!
As a second-generation homeschool mom, I know that life can get chaotic. But that doesn't mean your homeschool has to be. I've homeschooled in all different seasons: as a stay-at-home mom, a work-at-home-mom with schedules ranging from part to full time, through autoimmune illness, and while navigating my children's learning & neurological differences.
My experience has taught me this: with the right blend of practical tools, a sprinkle of creativity, and a bit of strategic planning, you can create a homeschool that fits right in to different seasons of life -- and one that you love.
Let's bust some homeschool myths.
I was homeschooled from first grade through graduation, but it wasn't an easy journey! Known as a strong-willed child, my struggles with school prompted my parents to start their own business helping families choose the right curriculum for their student. I worked in the shipping department, as well as in customer support. Helping moms find their best curriculum solution was my favorite part!
Way Back Where It All Started...
After high school graduation, I continued serving the homeschool community in various roles as I worked to earn my degree in Education through Liberty University. In 2011 I married the man of my dreams and we welcomed two sweet (and wild!) boys over the following three years. As our sons began to grow, I noticed new needs in the homeschool community and began brainstorming ways to fill them.
College, marriage, children
As my sons reached school age I began to notice many of my friends were overwhelmed at the thought of teaching their child to read. So, I set out to create a fun, easy to follow guide for phonics instruction. This is how the top-ranked Foundations Phonics course was born! In 2016 we moved from New York to Arkansas and I began to write the best-selling Let's Talk Science series. Oh, and we welcomed our third (also wild) son in 2021!
