If you’ve ever wondered if you’re doing enough—or if you’re even the right person for this homeschool journey—you’re in the right place!

I’m Carrie — homeschool coach, best-selling author of Foundations Phonics & Let's Talk Science, and busy mom to three wild and wonderfully made boys. I juggle real life as a busy mom like the rest of us: with prayer, coffee, and a whole lot of grace.

But, I know how overwhelming it can feel some days. I’ve sat in the messy middle of it all—wondering if I’m doing enough, if I’m doing it right, and if I’m even cut out for this. Spoiler alert: I am, and you are too.

That’s why I created The Everyday Homeschool—to help everyday moms like you and I homeschool with purpose, clarity, and confidence while living fully in the life God has given us. Because your homeschool doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. And neither does your story.

Hey there, friend!

He is oh-so faithful, my friend. Faithful in the math or reading meltdowns, the laundry piles, the moments of pure joy, and even through an unexpected diagnosis (or two).

In this space you’ll find encouragement, grace, practical help, and resources to make your homeschool work in real life—not just in theory. Whether it’s through my curriculum, blog, or coaching, I’m here to remind you: you are equipped, your kids are fearfully and wonderfully made, and God’s grace is enough for all of it.

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning."

– Lamentations 3:22-23

  • I’m semi-famous for being a strong-willed child who was once expelled from homeschool -- but that is a different story for another time . . .

  • I love Dr. Pepper and take chips & salsa quite seriously.

  • Hot pink makes me smile, pearls are my favorite, and items with llamas on them make me squeal excitedly.

  • I've served the homeschool community in various roles for 20 years. I have a passion for helping moms create a homeschool that fits into their life and that they LOVE.

  • I wanted to be a journalist as a child and was always writing. Little did I know God would turn that passion for writing into the Let's Talk Science series and Foundations Phonics!

Grace-Filled Support for Real-Life Homeschooling

Coaching, curriculum, and encouragement for moms raising fearfully and wonderfully made kids.

I was homeschooled from first grade through graduation, but it wasn't an easy journey! Known as a strong-willed child, my struggles with school prompted my parents to start their own business helping families choose the right curriculum for their student. I worked in the shipping department, as well as in customer support. Helping moms find their best curriculum solution was my favorite part!

How it all started

currently

After high school graduation, I continued serving the homeschool community in various roles as I worked to earn my degree in Education through Liberty University.  In 2011 I married the man of my dreams and we welcomed two sweet (and wild!) boys over the following three years. As our sons began to grow, I noticed new needs in the homeschool community and began brainstorming ways to fill them.

College, marriage, children

currently

As my sons reached school age I began to notice many of my friends were overwhelmed at the thought of teaching their child to read. So, I set out to create a fun, easy to follow guide for phonics instruction. This is how the top-ranked Foundations Phonics course was born! In 2016 we moved from New York to Arkansas and I began to write the best-selling Let's Talk Science series. Oh, and we welcomed our third (also wild) son in 2021!

Creating Curriculum

currently

When our third son was about 12 to 18 months old, we knew something was off with his speech. After some evaluations, he was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Around the same time, our middle son was diagnosed with significant dyslexia. As we started learning how to support them both, I also began to realize that a lot of my own school struggles were likely undiagnosed ADHD. That season stretched us—but it also showed me how wildly unique and wonderfully made our kids really are!
